On August 15, 2024, Amanda Marie Sifuentes, a 34-year-old woman from Roswell, New Mexico, was found deceased east of the city. The Chaves County Sheriff's Office received a report of a potential body around 3 p.m. that day, prompting deputies to respond to the scene.
