On the evening of August 26, 2021, a report of an unresponsive male drew Brockton police to 102 Walnut Street. There, they discovered Maxwell Gervais, a 21-year-old man, on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head. The shooting took place at approximately 6:01 p.m.

Emergency responders transported Gervais to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was later flown by medical helicopter to Boston Medical Center for further treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Gervais succumbed to his i ...
