On December 30, 1992, the life of 23-year-old Dantee Elise Oshita Aka, a White/Caucasian male also known as Chantee Alyce Woodman, was tragically cut short. After leaving a nightclub in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon, he was abducted by two men. These individuals were later identified as Cesar Barone and his acquaintance, Leonard Benjamin Darcell II.
Following the abduction, Dantee was held against his will. He was subjected to a brutal assault by Barone.
In a final, horrific act of violence, he was shot in the head. His body was later discovered abandoned along the Sunset Highway, bringing a grim end to the search for the missing young man.
The investigation into the murder led authorities to Leonard Benjamin Darcell II, who had fled to Seattle, Washington, on an unrelated parole violation. His cooperation proved crucial in the case against Cesar Barone. Darcell recounted the events of that fateful night, detailing how he and Barone had met Dantee at a Portland bar and convinced him to get into Barone's car. Once inside, Barone attacked and sexually assaulted him before ultimately shooting him.
Cesar Barone, a serial killer, was subsequently arrested and faced trial for a string of violent crimes, including the murder of Dantee Elise Oshita Aka. He was convicted for this and other murders and sentenced to death. Darcell, for his role in the crime, also faced legal consequences. Barone was ultimately linked to at least four murders in the Portland area during the early 1990s.
