On August 20, 2018, a tragic incident occurred at the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp, located at 4325 Northeast Marine Drive in Portland, Oregon. Andre D. Pennington, a 47-year-old resident of Portland, was the victim of a fatal shooting at this location. Pennington was transported by ambulance from the scene to a Portland hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
