Dean Owen Tahtinen, a 30-year-old Portland resident, was tragically murdered on January 6, 1997. His brother, Sean, discovered his body in Dean's apartment on Northeast Wygant Street after becoming concerned when Dean did not show up for a planned trip to Arizona for work. Dean was supposed to fly out on January 5, but when he did not arrive at his destination, his employer contacted Sean, leading him to check on his brother.
