In the late morning of December 21, 2022, a sense of tragedy befell a Southeast Portland neighborhood. Abed Fattoum, a 57-year-old White male, found his life abruptly cut short in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood. At approximately 10:52 a.m., officers from the Central Precinct were dispatched to the intersection of Southeast 9th Avenue and Southeast Market Street following reports of a shooting.
