On the night of June 22, 1976, 20-year-old Richard Williams was tragically shot and killed while visiting Irving Park in Portland, Oregon. Williams, along with his wife and friends, was playing on the swings when an unknown individual opened fire from a distance. Struck by a bullet, Williams and the group fled across the park to their vehicle, where he collapsed. He was transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
