On June 14, 1997, 16-year-old Jamil Edward Myrick was fatally shot near NE Alberta Street and NE 23rd Avenue in Portland, Oregon. Myrick was found by responding officers after reports of gunfire at approximately 1:42 a.m. Witnesses at the scene described seeing multiple vehicles in the area shortly before the shooting, including an older white sedan and a dark-colored Chevrolet Blazer or GMC Jimmy.
