On January 12, 2016, Nate Chaney, a 22-year-old resident of Charleston, West Virginia, was fatally shot in the parking lot of Littlepage Terrace. The incident marked the fourth violent death in the West Side neighborhood of Charleston within a three-week period, highlighting a surge in violent crime in the area at the time.
