His personal belongings included a watch and a diamond earring. Brandon did not have a personal vehicle, and the details of his mode of transportation on the day he vanished remain unknown. The DeKalb County Police Department opened an investigation into his disappearance on December 5, 2008.
Brandon is described as a Black / African American male, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing between 170 and 180 pounds. He had black hair styled in a low-cut fade and brown eyes. At times, he wore a beard or a mustache. His nails were always kept very short. Distinctive features that set Brandon apart include a piercing in his left ear from the age of 14 and several tattoos. On his left arm, he had the word 'Black' tattooed, while his right arm bore the word 'Boy.' The name 'Kewanna' was tattooed on his neck. He was also known by the nicknames Black, Back Boy, or BT.
