Jalil Myers, a 20-year-old Black male, found his life cut short on the evening of August 13, 2017, in Charleston, West Virginia. The tragic event unfolded inside an apartment situated at 121 Oakwood Road. At approximately 9:20 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed, leaving Myers fatally wounded. His death was the result of a shooting, a violent end to a young life that had seen its share of complexities.
