On March 1, 2021, 31-year-old Joshua Allen Burdette was found deceased at his home in Sissonville, West Virginia. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His father discovered his body and informed authorities that Joshua had been involved in an altercation with his brother, Holdon Michael Burdette, prior to the shooting.

Holdon Burdette, then 23, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with his brother's death. ...
