On the afternoon of New Year's Eve in 2014, the life of a young Black / African American man, Jeff Antoine, was cut short in Hartford, Connecticut. At just 20 years old, Antoine was fatally shot in the chest, marking the city's 19th homicide of the year. The incident unfolded around 3:15 p.m. when police were initially called to the vicinity of 1545 Main Street for what was reported as a car accident involving a Honda.
