On June 7, 2018, Miguel Perez, a 34-year-old resident of Hartford, Connecticut, was fatally shot while driving in the city's South End. The incident occurred around 2:42 a.m. when ShotSpotter technology detected six gunshots on Brookfield Street. Perez, who was possibly working as a Lyft driver at the time, was struck in the back by gunfire.
