On March 23, 2015, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Hartford police responded to a shooting incident at 17 Benton Street. Upon arrival, officers found 20-year-old Julius Rivera lying on the apartment floor with multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to the pelvic area. Despite being alert and conscious at the scene, Rivera's condition deteriorated, and he was pronounced dead after being transported to Hartford Hospital.
