On the afternoon of Monday, February 23, 2026, a burst of gunfire in a back lot on Barbour Street in Hartford, Connecticut, tragically ended the life of 19-year-old Calcius Hales Jr. A male resident of Hartford, Hales was found unresponsive by police officers who had been dispatched to the scene around 3:20 p.m. following reports of shots fired. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
