On October 5, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Hartford police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Orange Street, indicating multiple rounds of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Andre Jerome Gaston Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Gaston was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital.
