Deon Rodney, a 31-year-old Black/African American male, was working his shift as a barber at Just Right Cutz on Park Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on the evening of October 14, 2017. The day was nearing its end, and several customers, including a young boy whose hair Rodney had just finished cutting, were inside the shop.
