In the early hours of September 27, 2020, the life of 31-year-old Daron Jones, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short on a porch in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Shortly after midnight, the city's ShotSpotter system detected gunfire on Worth Street. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Jones unresponsive on the porch of a home, having sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
