On April 14, 2019, 28-year-old Derrick Nichols was fatally shot near the intersection of Pavilion and Wooster Streets in Hartford, Connecticut. Around noon, Hartford police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Nichols lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
