In the late hours of a Thursday in March, the hum of the city of Hartford was pierced by the sound of gunfire. On March 5, 2020, inside an apartment on Farmington Avenue, a young Black/African American man named Andre Keene, 21 years old, was shot. The incident triggered a shot spotter activation, and Hartford Police were dispatched to the scene. First responders found Keene and rushed him to St. Francis Hospital, but his injuries were too severe. He was pronounced dead in the early morning hour ...
