On a Thursday afternoon in March 2020, the life of 16-year-old Daviyon Morrell of Newington, a male, was tragically cut short. On March 12, at approximately 2 p.m., Hartford police responded to a report of a person shot at 59 Lenox Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Morrell inside the three-dwelling home with at least one gunshot wound to his upper chest.
Emergency services transported the teenager to St. Francis Hospital for medical attention.
Despite their efforts, Daviyon Morrell was pronounced dead at around 3 p.m. The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Division promptly launched an investigation into the shooting.
