Jose Torres, a 33-year-old Hispanic man, found his life tragically cut short on a summer evening in Hartford, Connecticut. On June 24, 2014, Torres was attending a cookout on Adams Street, a social gathering that took a dark and violent turn. In the midst of the barbecue, he was shot, suffering a fatal wound.
