On the afternoon of June 4, 2025, Endraqus Thomal Range, a 37-year-old man from Hopewell, was shot multiple times in the 1500 block of Piper Square Drive. Officers arrived just after 4:14 p.m. to find Endraqus Thomal Range, age 37, male, mortally wounded; he died at the scene. His dog was also shot and killed during the same burst of violence near the Piper Square Apartments.
