On December 1, 2021, 22-year-old Devonte Downer was found fatally shot in Hartford, Connecticut. At approximately 11:20 p.m., Hartford Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert near 27 Enfield Street but found no immediate evidence of a shooting. About 30 minutes later, a citizen discovered Downer suffering from gunshot wounds behind 158 Magnolia Street, roughly a block away from the initial location.
