On the warm summer night of July 29, 2021, in Hartford, Connecticut, the life of 24-year-old Angelo Joel Lopez was tragically cut short. A Hispanic male known for his charismatic charm and a smile that could light up any room, he was fatally shot on Elliott Street. The Hartford Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 11 p.m. by a ShotSpotter activation. Upon their arrival, they discovered Lopez unresponsive in front of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was quickly transported to Hartford Hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
As the investigation into the shooting began, a second male victim appeared at Saint Francis Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
