In a tragic event on October 12, 2015, Reyna Villa, a 38-year-old Hispanic female, lost her life in Hartford, Connecticut. The incident unfolded around 12:50 p.m. inside a third-floor apartment located at 1020 Broad Street. Authorities who arrived at the scene pronounced both Reyna and a male individual deceased shortly after 1 p.m.
The man was identified as Reyna's 48-year-old husband, Ramon Villa.
Investigators from the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division determined that the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. It was concluded that Ramon fatally shot his wife with a shotgun before turning the weapon on himself. As Ramon Villa was identified as the sole perpetrator, no arrests were made in connection with Reyna's death. This incident marked the city's 27th homicide of the year.
