On May 23, 2021, at approximately 1:57 a.m., Hartford police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at the Buggy Bath Car Wash on Homestead Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims: a 26-year-old woman, later identified as Jassmin Lewis of East Hartford, and a man. Both had sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment. Tragically, Lewis succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
