On August 6, 2022, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Hartford police responded to a report of a shooting at 73 Colonial Street in the Barry Square neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Adelaida Latorres-Toro inside a third-floor apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
