On the evening of May 4, 2024, the life of 19-year-old Lavante Tae Jaylan Brown, a Black/African American male from Hartford, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. Known to his loved ones as "Tae," he was attending a small house party with about 10 to 12 other young people at an apartment building on Hendricxsen Avenue. The gathering, where most attendees knew one another, took a devastating turn when gunfire erupted.
