In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Phoenix, Arizona, the sounds of gunfire shattered the quiet near a motel. Responding to the disturbance at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the Premiere Inn near West Peoria Avenue and the Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix police officers discovered a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured man was identified as 41-year-old Rodney Wayne Puckett.
