In the early morning hours of a Friday in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 36-year-old Taurus Goins was found inside a parked vehicle at the intersection of Saracen Street and North Willow. He had been fatally shot. The grim discovery on February 21, 2014, set in motion a homicide investigation that would quickly lead to arrests.
The Pine Bluff Police Department's investigation into the shooting death of the male victim moved swiftly.
Detectives began to piece together the events that led to Goins being killed in his car. Their work led them to identify potential suspects in the case.
Within a short period, the investigation resulted in the apprehension of two individuals. Police arrested 34-year-old Jason Miller in connection with the killing. Soon after, a second suspect, 34-year-old Shamar Womack, was also taken into custody. Both men were slated to face first-degree murder charges in the death of Taurus Goins. Following their arrests, Miller and Womack were held at the Jefferson County Detention Center as they awaited their court appearances.
