In the early morning hours of January 26, 2025, the life of 21-year-old Courtaurius Williams, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Shortly after 3:00 a.m., gunshots shattered the quiet near the West End Pool Hall located at 3303 W. 2nd Avenue. When officers from the Pine Bluff Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Williams lying unresponsive on the street next to a vehicle. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office was called to the scene and pronounced him dead.
Later that same day, an arrest was made in connection with the fatal shooting. At approximately 6:00 p.m., a team of Pine Bluff detectives and officers apprehended 19-year-old Lamarion White at a residence on 1504 W. 24th Avenue. The arrest was made without incident.
White was taken into custody and booked into the W.C. Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center. He is facing a charge of capital murder. The investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released information regarding a possible motive for the deadly encounter.
