On a spring evening in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a life was cut short in a hail of gunfire, leaving a family shattered and a community in shock. The man at the center of this tragedy was Fadi 'Frankie' Qandil, a 34-year-old self-employed businessman. Originally from Amman, Jordan, Qandil had built a life in Fort Smith, where he operated Frankie Q Auto Sales.
