In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the life of 19-year-old Daevonte Nelson was tragically cut short. On August 20, 2023, gunshots shattered the quiet of the 1600 block of Fresno Street. Responding to the call, police discovered Nelson in a parking lot, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
