On May 23, 2016, at approximately 3:25 a.m., North Little Rock police responded to a shooting at the Walmart on East McCain Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered 44-year-old Robert Leon Scales lying in the parking lot, having suffered at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
