In the autumn of 2016, a violent encounter in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, led to the untimely death of 56-year-old William Dulaney Sr. On the evening of October 27th, local police were dispatched to the corner of 13th and Sycamore following reports of a possible battery. Upon their arrival, they discovered Dulaney, a native of the city, suffering from a critical gunshot wound to his head.
Emergency services transported the injured man to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff for
initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injury, he was subsequently transferred to Baptist Health in Little Rock. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, William Dulaney Sr. succumbed to his injuries three days later, on October 30, 2016. His death was officially classified as a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Pine Bluff Police Department.
In the wake of the shooting, law enforcement appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an understanding of the events that transpired and the identification of those responsible. The case remains under investigation, and at the time of the initial reports, no suspects had been named, and no arrests had been made in connection with the fatal shooting.
