The fatal shooting occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in the parking lot of the Alukab Super Stop convenience store. The scene was chaotic, with a large crowd present and multiple people discharging firearms. When the violence subsided, four men had been shot.
Vincent Peal succumbed to his injuries, while another man was left in critical condition, and two others sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
The immediate aftermath of the shooting saw a swift police response. Two of the alleged shooters fled the scene in a white Pontiac, leading law enforcement on a chase that involved several agencies. The pursuit ended with the vehicle being stopped and the two occupants taken into custody. This initiated a thorough investigation by the Pine Bluff Police Department, which soon led to the identification of multiple suspects.
Within a day of the incident, authorities announced the arrests of three men in connection with the deadly shootout: Henry Mallister, Jaheem Ramsay, and Cardell Daniels.
