In the summer evening warmth of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a young life was tragically cut short. Floyd Cornell Allen III, a 14-year-old Black male, was found unresponsive in the grass at the intersection of 25th Avenue and South Maple Street. He was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The discovery of the teenager's body marked the beginning of a homicide investigation that would quickly lead to a suspect.
The Pine Bluff Police Department identified 18-year-old Dicoreon Ford as the
individual wanted in connection with the fatal shooting. A search for Ford ensued, and with the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, he was located and apprehended in Stuttgart, Arkansas. The capture was the result of a joint effort by the Pine Bluff Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the Arkansas County Sheriff's Office, and the Stuttgart Police Department.
Following his arrest, Dicoreon Ford was questioned by detectives. During an interview with investigators, he reportedly confessed to the crime. Based on the evidence and his statement, a judge ruled that there was probable cause to charge Ford with capital murder. He is being held without bond pending further court proceedings.
