On March 22, 2017, at approximately 3:22 a.m., Pine Bluff Police responded to a report of a person lying in the street near 38th and Hazel Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Parius Hicks with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Eric Kelley pronounced Hicks dead at 4:31 a.m.
