In El Dorado, Arkansas, on the night of November 19, 2017, a dispute that began inside a local nightclub called The Brick House escalated and spilled out into the parking lot, leading to a fatal shooting. Brandon Maurice Sanders, a 32-year-old man, was shot and killed during the altercation. Another man was also wounded in the incident.
Following the shooting, law enforcement identified 44-year-old Corey Tate of El Dorado as the suspect. Tate later turned himself in to the authorities.
He faced serious charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder, in connection with the death of Sanders and the injury of the second victim.
During his first court appearance, a judge set Tate's bond at $1 million. The community was left to mourn the loss of Brandon Sanders, who was remembered as a longtime employee of Wal-Mart and a member of the First Assembly Baptist Church. He was survived by his wife, siblings, and other relatives and friends who would miss him dearly.
