After making a purchase, she was walking to a family member's house on East Barnes Street when the gunfire erupted. Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots, with approximately 13 shell casings found at the scene.
Ashley was struck by a bullet and managed to return to the store, where she collapsed. She was initially taken to the Medical Center of South Arkansas and later transferred to a Little Rock hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during emergency surgery.
