In the early hours of a winter weekend in Grenada, Mississippi, the life of 36-year-old Charles Santez Coffey, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to a call in the 800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. There, they discovered Coffey deceased outside a residence, the victim of a fatal shooting. The Grenada County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
