On a Tuesday night in Little Rock, Arkansas, a burst of violence cut short the life of 18-year-old Brandon Brooks. The young man, known as a dancer and the family's 'baby,' was in a house on the 4200 block of West 24th Street on May 8, 2018, when gunfire erupted. Responding to the call, police discovered a grim scene in a back bedroom where three young men lay with gunshot wounds.
Brooks, along with a 16-year-old and a 23-year-old, was rushed to a nearby hospital.
While the two other victims were in critical condition, Brooks succumbed to his injuries, marking the city's 16th homicide of the year. His death was part of what was described as 'a violent night in Little Rock,' leaving his family and friends to mourn the loss of a young man remembered as a class clown who was always making people laugh.
