In Little Rock, Arkansas, on the night of July 7, 2018, Maurice Michael Culberson, a 64-year-old man, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Jefferson Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Culberson inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Maurice Culberson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. At the time, his death marked the 21st homicide of the year in the city of Little Rock.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing two young Black males running from the area immediately after the shots were fired. As of the initial reports, police had not released any official suspect information and were actively investigating the homicide. No arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the shooting.
