In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the life of 22-year-old Leon Gomez was tragically cut short. On June 14, 2025, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Southwest Patrol Officers from the Little Rock Police Department were dispatched to 6804 Colonel Glenn Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene.
Officers found Leon Gomez suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his head.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene and rendered aid, but the injury was too severe. Mr. Gomez was pronounced dead at the location. The scene was immediately secured, and homicide detectives were notified to begin their investigation.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives from the Major Crimes Division and the Crime Scene Search Unit began to piece together the events of that fatal morning. They canvassed the area for evidence and spoke with individuals who may have witnessed the shooting. Several people were transported to the Major Crimes Division for questioning, including 26-year-old Anderson Fuentes. After providing a statement to the detectives, Fuentes was released without charges, pending a file review by the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney. The investigation into the death of Leon Gomez, who was born in Sunilit, Suchitepéquez Guatemala, is still ongoing. His body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab by the Pulaski County Coroner for an autopsy as his family was notified of the devastating loss.
