A Black/African American male, Robinson was 62 years old when he was killed on August 19, 2015. He had been born on December 4, 1952, in Allport, Arkansas, the youngest of ten children. After graduating from Morris High School in 1971, he found a career he loved as a driver for Little Rock Tours, a job that allowed him to indulge his passion for travel and meeting new people.
In his personal life, he was a man of faith, having confessed Christ at a young age, and enjoyed cooking and listening to jazz.
The circumstances of that fatal August night suggest that Robinson was at his home when he heard noises outside, possibly related to a power failure. When he went to investigate, he was met with gunfire. The incident was later classified as the city's 20th homicide of the year. In the wake of the shooting, neighbors expressed their concerns about safety and sought new security measures for their community. Samuel Robinson was laid to rest at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
