In the early morning hours of June 25, 2020, a shooting on Stillman Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas, tragically cut short the life of 39-year-old Latoya Ford. Responding to the call at 12:50 a.m., police officers arrived to find a scene of violence with multiple victims. Ford had sustained a gunshot wound under her left arm. A second woman, aged 42, was also seriously injured with a gunshot wound to her lower abdomen.
Both women were quickly transported to local hospitals for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Latoya Ford succumbed to her injuries later that same day. Following her death, the investigation was officially classified as a homicide and transferred to the Homicide Unit. Detectives from the Violent Crimes–Gun Squad began their work at the scene, cordoning off the area and recovering several shell casings as evidence. They conducted a canvass of the neighborhood and interviewed several adults and juveniles who were present at the location.
The investigation into the death of Latoya Ford remains ongoing. While authorities have been actively following up on leads, a suspect has not yet been publicly identified or taken into custody. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation as her family and community await answers.
