On September 14, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Little Rock police officers patrolling near Kanis Road and John Barrow Road heard gunfire. They responded to the 1900 block of Michael Drive, where they found 36-year-old Freddie Baker Jr. unresponsive. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, Baker succumbed to his injuries.
The Little Rock Police Department initiated a homicide investigation, but as of the latest available information, no arrests have been made, and no suspects
have been publicly identified. Authorities have appealed to the community for assistance, urging anyone with information to contact the Little Rock Police Department at 371-4636.
Freddie Baker Jr. was the son of Freddie Baker Sr. and Laura Dean Baker. He is survived by his parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Prior to this incident, Freddie Baker Jr. had a history of legal issues. On April 23, 2014, he was arrested in Little Rock, Arkansas, for violating a protection order.
