On a late Thursday afternoon in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 23-year-old Elijah Tolbert was tragically cut short. On July 25, 2024, officers from the Little Rock Police Department were dispatched to 2124 Labette Manor shortly before 3:40 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man, later identified as Elijah Tolbert, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were promptly on the scene to provide aid and transported him to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Tolbert succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The investigation into the homicide was swift, with detectives from the Little Rock Police Department’s Homicide Unit leading the case. They began canvassing the area for evidence, seeking out potential surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Their efforts soon led to the identification of suspects. On August 13, 2024, the first arrest was made in connection to the case. Dalan Patterson, 26 years old, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder.
The investigation did not conclude with Patterson's arrest. A little over a week later, on August 22, 2024, a second suspect was apprehended. Justice Parker, 21, also from Little Rock, was taken into custody and faced the same charge of capital murder. Both men are now facing the legal consequences of their alleged involvement in the death of Elijah Tolbert, a young father, son, and brother who was known to many by his nickname, 'Trapstar Nuke,' and whose passions were music and fashion. The Pulaski County Coroner's office transported his body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy as the investigation continued.
